Goodland, Kansas resident and former Ottumwa, Iowa resident William Emmett Fulcher, Sr., passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at his home in Goodland, KS.
Bill was born on February 23, 1943 in Ottumwa, IA to Loyal and Irene (Kent) Fulcher. He was one of three children. He attended school in Ottumwa and graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1961. In June of 1961, Bill enlisted in the United States Air Force.
On November 28, 1963, Bill married Susan C. Zech in Tucson, AZ. To this union, three children; William, Carol and Khristen were born. He worked for many years as an Engineering Tech with the City of Ottumwa.
Bill loved wood working and early on in his life, he collected coins and enjoyed going shooting. He was a Mason and belonged to Masonic Lodge 321. Having served during the Vietnam War, he also belonged to the Goodland VFW Post 1133.
Preceding him in death were his parents Irene and Loyal Fulcher, his wife Susan, his sister Ila Cobler and his brother Loyal Fulcher.
Surviving family includes his children William E. (Dana) Fulcher, Jr of Goodland, KS, Carol J. (Aaron) White and Khristen Fulcher both of Chippewa Falls, WI. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren; Brendan (Amber) Fulcher of San Marcos, TX, Elizabeth (Miguel) Guzman of Wichita, KS, Miranda (Nicholas) Graves of Chippewa Falls, WI and Kati (Phillip) Cook of Eau Claire, WI; as well as 6 great grandchildren; Rowan, Gareth and Conall Graves, Rhodes Fulcher and Jim and Miles Cook.
Cremation was chosen and services will be held at a later date in Ottumwa, IA.
In Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made out to the William E. Fulcher, Sr. Memorial Fund and may be sent to Koons-Russell Funeral Home, 211 N. Main Ave., Goodland, KS 67735.
