Vivian Jensen

Former longtime Goodland, Kansas resident Vivian Jensen, 94, died on December 6, 2012, at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas.  Vivian M. Jensen was born on July 21, 1918, in Goodland, Kansas, the daughter of Luella M. (Sperry) and James A. Amos.  Vivian had a brother Donald Amos and a sister Margaret Amos Stuart.  She graduated from Sherman Community High School in 1936.
Vivian married Wayne E. Jensen on August 4, 1938, in Goodland.  To this couple were born two children, Ronald J. Jensen, and Tracey A. Jensen.
Wayne and Vivian owned and operated Jensen Motor Company of Goodland throughout their married life.  Wayne died suddenly in 1974.
Vivian worked at the Goodland Arts Center from 1985 to her retirement in 2005.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Goodland Arts Council, the Sherman County Historical Society, and Goodland Regional Medical Center Auxiliary.  Hobbies that she enjoyed were playing golf, square dancing, and gardening.  Vivian moved from Goodland to Garden City in March of 2011.
She is survived by her son Ron Jensen and his wife Janis of Parker, Colorado; daughter Tracey Homm and her husband Mike of Garden City; two grandchildren, Marni and her husband Sean McMillan; and Wayne Erik Jensen and his wife Valerie; and two great-granddaughters Reese McMillan and Audrey Jensen.
Preceding her in death were her parents, brother, sister, and husband Wayne.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 13, at 1:00 p.m. MT at Koons Chapel in Goodland, with burial following in the Goodland Cemetery.  A reception tea honoring Vivian’s life will be held at the Goodland Arts Center following the burial.
Friends may share their respects from on Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. until noon, at Koons Chapel.
