Vicki Brantl

May 1, 1955 — February 10, 2025

Burlington, Colorado

Vicki Brantl, 69, of Burlington, CO, passed away unexpectedly at her home on February 10, 2025.

Vicki was born on May 1, 1955, in Minot, ND, to Edward and Jacqueline (Peterson) Bjork., graduating from Minot High School in 1973. An avid athlete, she excelled in both softball and golf.

In 1976, Vicki married the love of her life, David Brantl, in Minot. Their greatest joy came in 1979 when they welcomed their daughter, Jami, completing their family. Over the years, Vicki and David moved with his work, living in Minot, Dickinson, ND, and Wolf Point, MT, before finally settling in Burlington, CO, where they built their forever home.

Vicki quickly became known in Burlington for her warm heart, quick wit, and incredible talent for baking. She had a gift for making people feel special whether through her storytelling, her generosity, or her famous homemade treats. After losing Dave in 2014, Vicki was deeply grateful for the many friends who helped her with household projects, though no one ever left her home without a package of her homemade sweets as a token of her appreciation.

Above all, Vicki’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted mother and an incredibly proud grandmother to Makaiden and Zavery, showering them with love, laughter, and endless support. Just recently, she had the joy of becoming a great-grandmother to Declan, a role she embraced with all her heart. Her love for her family was unwavering, and her presence in their lives was a source of warmth and strength.

She is survived by her daughter, Jami (Darcy) Cantwell; grandchildren, Makaiden Pace (Rylan) and Zavery Pace (Claire); great-grandson, Declan; mother, Jackie; brothers, Kevin (Carol) and David (Jen); as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Vicki was preceded in death by her husband, David, and her father, Edward.

Memorial contributions may be designated to EPAWA in Burlington, Colorado and may be sent to Koons-Russell Funeral Home, 211 N. Main Ave, Goodland KS 67735.
