Sharon Kay (Curl) Blythe, 80, of Colby, Kansas passed away January 12, 2025 at Citizen’s Medical Center.

She was born September 30, 1944 in Webb City, Missouri to William and Juanita (Welch) Curl. Sharon attended school in Goodland, Kansas and there she met Trent Blythe. They were united in marriage February 5th, 1961. They would have celebrated 64 years of marriage this year. To this union 4 children were born. Rhonda, Terry, Curtis, and Gina.

Sharon worked as a CNA at the Goodland hospital and Connie’s Home Health Agency. She enjoyed caring for people and helping anyone that needed her. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren! She loved spending time at her granddaughter Heather’s house! Heather and Chanteil always pulled all kinds of shenanigans on her! There were always great laughs and lots of fun to be had. Sharon enjoyed knitting and needle work in her free time. She loved her time going home to Wallace, Idaho visiting her family!

After retirement, Trent and Sharon moved to Stillwell, Oklahoma and resided there for 12 years before moving back to Western Kansas to be closer to family.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Trent, daughters Rhonda (John) Robinson of Sharon Springs, KS and Gina (Rick) Haeffner of Colby, KS; grandchildren Heather (Eric) Thomas of Goodland, KS, Chanteil Smith of Cimarron, KS, Heath Eby of Goodland, KS, Skyler Eby of Goodland, Kansas, Courtney Goodman of Colby, KS and Chris (Carleigh) Haeffner of Colby, KS, 13 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 sisters Helen Schupman of Texas, Linda Stanley of Wallace, ID, Betty Miller of ID, and 2 brothers Jack Curl of Ulysses, KS and Don Curl of WA.

Preceding her in death are her parents, William and Juanita Curl, In-laws Don and Lila Blythe, son Curtis Blythe, daughter Terry Blythe, brothers Ralph and Charles Curl, and sisters Pauli Goodwin and Phyllis Lucas.

Memorial contributions may be made out to the Northwest Kansas Foundation for Hope and may be left at the services or mailed to Koons-Russell Funeral Home, 211 N. Main Ave., Goodland, KS 67735.
