Robert E. Helderman

Longtime, Kanorado, Kansas resident, Robert Emery Helderman, 72, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023 surrounded by his family at the Goodland Regional Medical Center in Goodland.

Bob was born on April 3, 1951 in Vona, Colorado to Robert Herman and Maxine White (Brown) Helderman.  Around the age of 10, the family moved to Kanorado, where Bob attended school.

On February 25, 1973, Bob married Penny Lynn Sheldon.  To this union, two children, Monta and Blake were born.  He worked for many years as the Grain Elevator Operator at the Kanorado Co-Op.  Bob was a member of the Kanorado United Methodist Church and was a member of the Lions Club.

Preceding Bob in death were his parents and grandparents, and one nephew Michael Montgomery.

He is survived by his wife Penny of the home in Kanorado, his daughter Monta (Gail) McCauley of Greeley, CO, his son Blake (Amber) Helderman of Goodland, KS; grandchildren Dezarea and Adam Voorhies of Windsor, CO, Brett Kaza and fiancé Veronica Rogers of Aurora, CO, Preston and Kaprice Helderman of Goodland, KS, and great grandson Xander Kaza of Windsor, CO.  He is also survived by his siblings Charlotte and Lynn Morrell of Burlington, CO, Rosali and Jr. Montgomery of Sharon Springs, KS, and many half and step siblings along with many nieces and nephews.
