Goodland, Kansas resident Rhonda Jean Lovins, 64, died Sunday, October 25, 2015, at her home.
She was born December 5, 1950, at Atwood, Kansas, the daughter of Iverna Marie (Lippold) and George Fredrick Eby. She graduated from Colby High School and then furthered her education, earning her Certified Medical Assistant license. She and Vernon Carl Lovins, Sr. were married and later divorced. She served the community with her work at Goodland Regional Medical Center, Connie’s Home Health, and Tender Love Home Health, and with the residents at Wheat Ridge Acres in Goodland. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
Surviving family includes her daughters Veronica Wilson and her husband David of Hill City; Sarah Lovins of Goodland; Cathy Deterding and her husband Jim of Goodland; five grandchildren Shelby Wilson, Dustin Wilson, Nicholas Wilson, Morgan Stevens, and Logan Deterding; her mother Iverna Eby of Goodland; sisters Becky Luckert and her husband Don of Brewster; Nancy Weiderer and her husband David of Ovid, Michigan; Deb Steier and her husband Curt of Kearney, Nebraska; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her father George Eby, brother Stan Eby, and nephew Terry Steier.
Memorial Mass for the Deceased will be Friday, October 30, at 10:00 AM MT, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Goodland, with Father Norbert Dlabal presiding. Inurnment will follow in the Goodland Cemetery.
Friends may share their respects on Thursday, from 6:00 until 7:00 PM MT, at Koons Chapel in Goodland, with Vigil following at 7:00 PM MT.
Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be designated to the Rhonda Lovins Memorial, and may be mailed to Koons Funeral Home, 211 N. Main, Goodland, KS 67735-1555.
