Longtime Goodland, Kansas resident Patty Jo Tiede, 60, died Monday, December 2, 2013, at her home in Goodland.
She was born April 13, 1953, at Quinter, Kansas, the daughter of Pat (Goetz) and Tommy Joe “T.J.” Martin. She attended school at Park, Kansas.
On March 17, 1979, she and Mitch Tiede were married and made their home at Goodland. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Before Patty’s declining health, she enjoyed spending time in the mountains snowmobiling with family and taking motorcycle trips with her husband. In her last few years, she enjoyed spending time with her grandkids.
Preceding her in death were her son Tom Tiede; and her parents T.J. and Pat Martin.
Surviving family includes her husband Mitch Tiede of Goodland; son Patrick Tiede and his wife Andrea of Manhattan; daughter Erica Spangler and her husband Joe of Garden City; four grandchildren Thomas, Eric, and Jacie Tiede of Manhattan; and Jaelyn Spangler of Garden City; brothers Larry Martin and his wife Peggy of Aurora, Colorado; and Terry Martin and his wife Deb of Goodland.
The Memorial Mass of the Deceased will be Friday, December 6, at 10:30 AM MT, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Goodland, with Father Norbert Dlabal presiding. Inurnment will follow in the Goodland Cemetery.
Memorials may be designated to Advanced Healthcare of Aurora, Colorado, and may be left at the service or mailed to Koons Funeral Home, 211 N. Main, Goodland, KS 67735-1555.
