Former Goodland, Kansas resident Patricia (Becker) Adelgren, 45, died January 27, 2013, at John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Hospice Center in Asheville, North Carolina.
Pat was born October 25, 1967, in Goodland, the daughter of LaVaughn (Carr) and Eugene Becker. She graduated from Goodland High School with the class of 1986, and from Fort Hays State University in 1990.
On November 30, 1991, she and Eric Adelgren were married. As a CNA in home health care in Kansas and Pennsylvania, she was dearly loved by the seniors that were under her care. Known for her compassionate heart, Pat was also a good neighbor, always willing to serve those in need. She was a champion of all children and was a good role model to her nieces and nephews, who were always blessed with their “Aunt Pat”. She especially enjoyed working in her yard’s flower gardens that were welcoming sanctuaries to the birds and squirrels. She had been a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Goodland.
Preceding her in death were her sister Janet Becker, who died October 20, 2012; and grandparents Leo and Aline Becker, and Gerald and Agnes Carr.
Surviving family includes her husband Eric Adelgren of Marion, North Carolina; parents Eugene and LaVaughn Becker of Goodland; sister Lona Brown, her husband Shawn, and their children Kasandra and Bryce, all of Hays; brother Daryl Becker, his friend Tiffany Kindel, and his sons Zachary, Austin, and Tyler, all of Fruita, Colorado; nephew Brandon Sissel of Goodland; and in-laws Paul and Janet Adelgren of Marion, North Carolina.
The Memorial Mass for the Deceased will be Saturday, February 23, at 10:00 AM MT, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Goodland, with Father Norbert Dlabal presiding. Inurnment will follow in the Goodland Cemetery.
Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be designated to the Patricia (Becker) Adelgren Memorial, and may be left at the service or mailed to Koons Funeral Home, 211 N. Main Avenue, Goodland, KS 67735-1555.
