Pat Jordan

Longtime Goodland, Kansas resident Pat Jordan, 87, died Thursday, December 19, 2013, at Good Samaritan Society—Sherman County in Goodland.

She was born October 26, 1926, in Bayard, Nebraska, the daughter of Lottie (Williamson) and Oner “Pat” Crow.  She graduated from Alliance High School in Alliance, Nebraska, with the class of 1944.

On April 15, 1946, she and Clark W. Jordan were married in Alliance, Nebraska, and they made their home in Alliance. From 1956 through 1959, the family lived in Colby, Kansas.  In 1959, Clark and Pat bought Goodland Sheet Metal, and they moved Goodland to make their home.   After working five years as the school secretary at Edson School in Edson, Kansas, she joined Clark at Goodland Sheet Metal, serving as business manager.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Goodland.  In 1986, she completed her education at Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado, and St. Paul's School of Theology in Kansas City, Missouri, credentialed as a Diaconal Minister.  Her dedicated service included serving in Christian Education, and Genesis, which she and her Sunday School class originated.  She served the United Methodist Health Ministry Fund, in which she was a charter trustee; Kansas West Conference; Salvation Army, and Thetis Club.

Preceding her in death were her husband Clark, infant son, parents, two brothers, and one sister.

Surviving family includes her daughter Meripat Bowman of Goodland; her daughter Julie Kongs and her husband Steve of Albuquerque, New Mexico; her son Steve Jordan and his wife Beth of Friendswood, Texas, six grandchildren Vesper Jackson; Jordan Steele and his wife Heather; Kristiana Wright; Isabeau Wright; Sean Jordan; and Jessi Jordan.

The memorial service will be Monday, December 23, at 10:30 AM MT, at First United Methodist Church in Goodland, with Reverend Shelly Petz officiating.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be designated to First United Methodist Church Education Fund or Northwest Kansas Animal Shelter, and may be left at the service or mailed to Koons Funeral Home, 211 N. Main, Goodland, KS  67735-1555.
