Burlington, Colorado resident Myrna K. (Winter) Burton, 83, died Sunday, May 29, 2016, at Burlington.
She was born September 1, 1932, at Kanorado, Kansas, the daughter of Nell F. (Frye) and George K. Winter. She attended Columbine Elementary and Smiley Junior High, both in Denver, Colorado, before attending eighth through eleventh grades in Kanorado. She graduated from Sherman Community High School in Goodland, Kansas, with the class of 1950. She had worked as office manager for the Department of Human Resources for the State of Kansas for eighteen years. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
On September 19, 1968, she and C. Clayton Burton were married at Golden, Colorado. In November of 2000, she moved from El Paso, Texas, to Burlington, Colorado.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Clayton Burton, who died April 25, 2003; son Scott L. Burton; and daughter Michelle R. Burton.
Surviving family includes daughters Suzanne D. Marks of Omaha, Nebraska; Nancy J. DeHaro of El Paso, Texas; sons C. David Burton of Seattle, Washington; Shawn Burton and his wife Pam of Amarillo, Texas; daughter-in-law Marti Burton of Seattle, Washington; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
The graveside service will be Friday, June 3, 1:30 PM MT, at the Goodland Cemetery, with Father Don Martin presiding.
