Mary Jean Cooper

Goodland, KS resident and former Arvada, CO resident Mary Jean Cooper, 71, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Topside Manor in Goodland.

Mary Jean was born on January 5, 1950 in Cairo, IL to Raidt and Gladys (Hinchey) Lee.  She was the youngest of three children.  She attended school through the 12th grade and graduated from East Prairie High School in East Prairie, Missouri.

On February 27, 1971, she married Jerry Cooper in Sikeston, MO.  To this union, one daughter Susan was born.

Mary Jean loved to read, travel with her husband and daughter and enjoyed watching Cary Grant movies.

Due to failing health, Mary Jean moved to Goodland in August of 2020 to be closer to her daughter.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband Jerry in 2019.

She is survived by her daughter Susan (Jeff) Riedesel of Goodland, two grandchildren; Grace Riedesel and Corey J. Davis of Goodland, one brother Raidt “Eddie” Lee of Mobile, AL and a sister Linda Fones of Pine Grove, CA.

Mary Jean was cremated and no services are planned at this time.
