Longtime Goodland, Kansas resident Mary Maxine (Weis) Elliott, 88, died Sunday, February 21, 2016, at Bethany Home in Lindsborg, Kansas.
She was born February 7, 1928, at Hoxie, Kansas, the daughter of Alma (Lovin) and John Weis. She graduated with the class of 1946 from Edson High School.
On September 29, 1948, she and Leonard L. Elliott were married, and they made their home in Goodland. In 1951, they bought a farm five miles west of Goodland, running a dairy from 1952 through 1980.
She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, Bingo, and coffee with friends. She especially loved time with her family.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Leonard Elliott; and one daughter Marcia K. Way.
Surviving family includes her daughter Carol Colby and her husband Kim of Assaria; son-in-law Curtis Way of Goodland; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister Lena Butler and her husband Jerry of St. Francis; two brothers John Weis and his wife Roberta of Manchester, Iowa; Don Weis and his wife Jan of Fort Mohave, Arizona.
A private family service will be at a later date.
