Lifelong Sherman County, Kansas resident Mary Lou Johnson, 80, died March 22, 2008, at Goodland Regional Medical Center.
She was born November 22, 1927, in Sherman County, Kansas, the daughter of George and Sylvia (Laughlin) Simmering. She attended school in Sherman County.
On August 16, 1952, she and Bob L. Johnson were married at Raton, Mew Mexico, and they made their home in Sherman county. Her hobbies included being with her family and pets, playing pitch and pinochle, doing jigsaw puzzles, dancing, reading, and gardening.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers Frank Simmering and Lowell Simmering; two sisters Peggy Abercrombie and Alta Johnson; and one half-sister Josephine West.
Surviving family includes her husband Bob L. Johnson of Goodland; four sons Michael D. Johnson of Goodland; Craig L. Johnson and his wife Pam of Denver, Colorado; Dennis L. Johnson and his wife Karen of Denver; Kent L. Johnson and his wife Cathy of Denver; five grandchildren Mitch Johnson, Breanna Johnson, Brittany Johnson, Wes Johnson, and Steven Johnson; two great-grandchildren Tallon Johnson and Carisma Johnson; and former daughter-in-law Cindy Todd and her husband Brent of Denver.
Private inurnment will be at a later date.
Memorials may be designated to the Goodland Regional Medical Center Respiratory Department, and may be mailed to Koons Funeral Home, 211 N Main, Goodland, KS 67735-1555
