Maria Vasquez

Longtime Goodland, KS resident, Maria Jesus Vasquez, 92, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at the St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, CO.

Maria was born on November 21, 1927 in Comstock, Texas to Gavino and Santiaga (Sandoval) Vasquez.  She was one of eight children.  She attended school in Texas up through the 9th grade.

On October 25, 1954, she married Natividad Vasquez in Tahoka, Texas.  To this union, eight children were born.

Maria enjoyed cooking for her family, sewing, crocheting, knitting and doing word finds.  Most of all she enjoyed just spending time with her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, one son, two daughters, three brothers, four sisters and one grandson.

She is survived by her five children; Janie Juarez of Plainview, TX, Raul (Susan) Vasquez of Gladstone, Oregon, Jose Vasquez (Becky) of Olathe, KS, Dulci (Dennis) Fyfe of Goodland, KS and Jr. (Kerri) Vasquez also of Goodland.  She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
