Margaret Ann Baalman, 83, of Goodland, KS passed away at her home in Goodland, Kansas on February 8, 2025. She was born on April 24, 1941 Carl and Dorothy (McCurdy) Cress in Bird City, Kansas
Margaret was united in marriage LeRoy Baalman on February 9, 1959, in Grinnell, KS. To this union they had two sons Wayne and Gerald.
Her hobbies in her younger years were traveling, many family camping, hunting, and fishing trips. She loved the years they spent with the black powder groups and bow and arrow competitions, she had a very good shot. For many years she and her bingo friends loved to play bingo. Her many years as a hairdresser in Goodland resulted in many longtime friends. She was an active member in the VFW Auxiliary and also spent a lot of time enjoying being at the gift shop at the Goodland Hospital.
She was an expert crocheter, spending a multitude of hours and skeins of yarn making beautiful doilies, tablecloths, people’s names, and various other things, entering many of them into the yearly county fair competitions.
She is survived by her brother Fred Cress of Amarillo, Texas, and her sister Carolyn Laursen of Amarillo, Texas, and her grandchildren, Michele, Nicole, Tim, Tina, Corey, Melissa, Robby, Josh, Dixie and David.
She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Dorothy, her husband Leroy, and her sons Wayne and Gerald and one brother Joe Cress.
Her wishes were to be cremated, with no services at this time.
Memorial contributions may be designated to the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church Fund and may be mailed to Koons-Russell Funeral Home, 211 N. Main Ave, Goodland KS 67735.
