Longtime Sharon Springs, Kansas resident Marcella N. Cullens, 88, died Thursday, August, 4, 2016, at Greeley County Hospital in Tribune, Kansas.
She was born November 8, 1927, at her family’s rural home near Osawatomie, Kansas, the daughter of Flora Belle (Needham) and Gustav Adolf Hahn. She attended schools in Miami County, Kansas.
On March 14, 1943, she and Ralph Lavere Cullens were married at Lane, Kansas, and they made their home in Sharon Springs, Kansas. She had worked as a store clerk and a cafeteria manager. She was a member of Gateway to Grace Church in Sharon Springs.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Lavere Cullens; brother Jay Hahn; and infant sister Margie Hahn.
Surviving family includes her five children Daniel Cullens and his wife Connie of Goodland; Margaret Taylor of Wallace; Wayne Cullens and his wife Ambie of Bastrop, Texas; Beverly Smith and her husband Larry of Bristow, Oklahoma; Leslie Cullens and his wife Sandy of Sharon Springs; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Evadene McMillen of Goodland.
The funeral will be Tuesday, August 9, at 10:30 AM MT, at Gateway to Grace Church in Sharon Springs, with Pastor Rick Dewees officiating. Burial will follow in the Wallace Cemetery.
Friends may share their respects on Monday, from 4:00 until 6:00 PM MT, at Koons Funeral Home in Sharon Springs.
