Lifelong Goodland, Kansas resident Lois Marguerite Berringer, 98, died Monday, August 10, 2015.
She was born July 10, 1917, at Goodland, Kansas, the daughter of Maggie (Laughlin) and Charlie Clauser Hooper. She graduated from Sherman Community High School in Goodland, with the class of 1934. Following graduation she taught at a country school.
She and Warren William “Bill” Berringer were married on February 13, 1937. She had been a pharmacy assistant for Tom Cooper, Don Winklepleck, and Cesar Miller. Her memberships included First United Methodist Church.
Preceding her in death were her husband Bill Berringer; daughter Diane Workman; sons William Berringer and Warren Berringer; grandsons Mark McClure and Brook Berringer; and great-granddaughter Tatum Lovgren.
Surviving family includes daughter Judith McClure and her husband J.B. of Goodland; nine grandchildren Mitch (Jamie)McClure, Tony (Lisa) Workman, Mike (Suzanne) McClure, Robyn (Justin) Eisenach, Terri Workman, Nicoel (Kevin) Nasseri, Todd (Angie)Berringer, Drue (Todd) Lovgren, Brett (Heidi) Berringer; twenty-four great-grandchildren Lindsey (Zach) Peterson, Tanner (Gentry) McClure, Lincoln (Summer) McClure, Courtney (Nick) Whipps, Marguerite (Yan) Stastny, Shelby Workman, Matt (Kelsey) Eisenach, Ryan (Ann) Eisenach, Taylor McClure, Scott McClure, Brook Nasseri, Tristan Berringer, Alex Nasseri, Darby Berringer, Emma Nasseri, Kalyssa Berringer, Brayden Berringer, Hallie Berringer, Tyson Lovgren, Eden Nasseri, Cole Lovgren, Ben Nasseri, Barrett Lovgren, Keagan Lovgren; six great-great-grandchildren Jaida Peterson, Elliot Peterson, Owen Peterson, Lawson McClure, Royce McClure, Colby McClure; brother J.L. Hooper and his wife JoAnn of Longmont, Colorado; daughters-in-law Jan Berringer of Goodland; Judy Berringer of Erie, Colorado; son-in-law Ernie Workman of Goodland; and sister-in-law Thelma Rice of Hutchinson.
Friends may share their respects on Thursday, August 13, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM MT, at Koons Chapel in Goodland, with family receiving friends from 6:00 until 7:00 PM MT.
The funeral service will be on Friday, August 14, at 10:00 AM MT, at First United Methodist Church in Goodland, with Pastor Lyn Linde officiating. Burial will follow in the Goodland Cemetery.
