Loid Koehn

Longtime Wallace County, Kansas resident Loid Koehn, 85, died Thursday, December 18, 2014, at Greeley County Hospital in Tribune, Kansas.

He was born July 2, 1929, at the family home in rural Gray County, Kansas, near Montezuma, the son of Lizzie (Smith) and Harry A. Koehn.  He graduated from Montezuma High School with the class of 1949.

On September 17, 1950, he and Glenda J. Schmidt were married at Montezuma, where they made their home.  In 1961, they moved to Wallace County where they farmed and raised their family.  He was a member of the Weskan Bible Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers-in-law; and four sisters-in-law.

Surviving family includes his wife Glenda Koehn of Wallace County; son Stanley Koehn and Pegi Hueller of Walsh, Colorado, his son Devin (Tanya) Koehn of Bennington and their children Caleb, Dylan, and Ericka; his daughter Kenzie (Josh Bruner) Koehn of Charleston, SC; his son Bric Koehn of Fort Collins, Colorado; daughter Stacey Cox and her husband Mike of Weskan, their daughter Tera (Camron) Funk of Sharon Springs, and their children Hailey, Cade, and Mya; Ross (Megan) Cox of Sharon Springs, and their children Gage, Carter, and Mason; Tori (Jeff) Mathias of Syracuse and their children Reid and Ivy; Clayton (Jessica) Cox of Weskan; daughter Sherry Lawless and her husband Clint of Weskan, their children Erin (Mary) Lawless of Hays; Mindy (Kris) Kirk of Winona and their children Dally Poe, Shea Kirk, Kolt Kirk; Hannah (Daniel) Robert of Pearl City, Hawaii; Kayla (Brandon) Tatman of Goodland and their children Keagan, Kinley, and KI; siblings Lowell Koehn and his wife Hazel of Grand Junction, Colorado; Lucinda Smith of Olathe; Fostina Haley and her husband Del of Seattle, Washington; Clifford Koehn and his wife Shirley of Wichita; Steve Koehn and his wife Yvonne of Castle Rock, Colorado; brother-in-law Darrel Schmidt and his wife Helen of Hugoton; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

The funeral will be Monday, December 22, at 10:30 AM MT, at Weskan Bible Church, with Pastor Tim Cress and Pastor Dave Erwin officiating.  Burial will follow in the Weskan Cemetery.  Friends may share respects one hour prior to the service.

Memorials may be designated to Wallace County Ambulance Association or Weskan Bible Church, and may be left at the service or mailed to Koons Funeral Home, 211 N. Main, Goodland, KS   67735-1555.
