Lifelong Goodland, Kansas resident Lester J. Frazier, 88, died Monday, January 7, 2013, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community in Buhler, Kansas.
He was born May 21, 1924, at Wallace, Kansas, the son of Martha Mary Minnie (Hackerott) and William Pickering Frazier.  He graduated from Sherman Community High School in Goodland with the class of 1942.

He served his country in the United States Army Air Corps from May 23, 1944 through October 28, 1945.  On November 4, 1945, he and June Philbrick were married at Goodland where they made their home.  He was a stock brocker.
He was a member of First Christian Church, and many fraternal, civic, and social clubs in the county.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife June Frazier, who died June 21, 2010; an infant son Thomas Allen; grandson Jason Bartels; siblings Leo Frazier, Effie Frazier Nelson, Lela Frazier, Isabel Frazier Wilson, Ina Frazier West, Patrick Frazier, Cyrus Frazier, Millie Frazier Jetton.

Surviving family includes three daughters Leslie Bartels and her husband Gary of Hays; Carol Johnson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Marcia Sitton and her husband Steve of Goodland; son Bill Frazier and his wife Mary of Buhler; ten grandchildren Mitch Bartels and his wife Roxanne, Valerie Hammond, Tom Johnson and his wife Valerie, Jan Johnson, Ben Johnson and his wife Stephanie, Dana Williams and her husband Craig, Tara Sitton, Jordan Frazier, Taylor Frazier, and Dane Frazier ; eleven great-grandchildren Andelyn Johnson, Jaelle Johnson, Brynn Johnson, Hallee Johnson,  Cyrus Johnson, Gabriel Johnson, Abigail Johnson, Regan Bartels, Tatum Bartels, Camryn Hammond, Axel Williams,  and Carter Williams; and one brother Donald Frazier and his wife Lila of Sacramento, California.

The funeral will be Friday, January 11, at 10:30 AM MT, at the First Christian Church in Goodland, with Reverend Carol Edling Jolly officiating.  Burial, with military honors, will follow in the Goodland Cemetery.
Friends may share their respects at Koons Chapel in Goodland on Thursday, from 3:00—7:00 PM MT.
Memorials may be designated to Shriners Hospitals for Children or Fort Wallace Historical Society, and may be left at or mailed to Koons Funeral Home, 211 N. Main, Goodland, KS  67735-1555.
