Kathleen Marie Wolak

Kathleen Marie “Kathy” Wolak, 69, Goodland, KS passed away at Topside Manor in Goodland, Kansas on Thursday, October 10, 2024. She was born on November 2, 1954 to Luke and Maryann (Ribordy) Racette in Quinter, Kansas. 

Kathy was united in marriage to Edward J. Wolak on April 24, 1976 in Grinnell, KS. To this union they had four children Lukas, Shandon, Janelle and Andrea.

Kathy grew up on a farm southeast of Oakley, KS. She loved farm life taking care of animals and especially fishing at the ponds on their land. She told lots of great farm stories about snakes, tornadoes, a pet bull, and all the naughty things her siblings would do. She was lucky enough to be able to babysit her local grandkids. Anything to do with her grandchildren, she was always present, whether it was watching their sports, taking care of them when they were sick, or having a McDonald's picnic on her front porch. She adored every single one of them. Any event that brought us all together over a meal was also her favorite. When she wasn't busy with the grandkids she loved playing cards, doing puzzles, or watching her favorite cooking shows.

Kathy is survived by her, four children Lukas (Amber) Wolak of Goodland, Kansas, Shandon (Tina) Wolak of Goodland, Kansas, Janelle (Matt) Miller of Goodland, Kansas, and Andrea (Tyler) Hillmer of Elm Creek, Nebraska, her brothers Bill, Kennan and Rocky Racette of Oakley, Kansas and Darren Racette of Grainfield, Kansas, sisters Lori Collins of Grinnell, Kansas and Donella Younkin of Oakley, Kansas. She is also survived her 12 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Luke and Maryann Racette, her husband Edward Wolak, and her brother Greg Racette.
