Lifelong Goodland, Kansas resident Katherine Hope Davis, 94, died Thursday, August 22, 2013, at her home in Goodland, Kansas.
She was born October 17, 1918, in Bird City, Kansas, the daughter of Adolph and Julesie (Hansson) Gemmer. She attended Sherman Community High School, graduating in 1938.
On August 13, 1943 she and Jim Trablik were married in Watertown, NY. Jim died in 1978. On December 3, 1989 she was united in marriage to Irvin Davis in Wallace County, KS. Irvin preceded her in death in 2002.
Katherine enjoyed gardening, crocheting, reading and specially spending time with her family. She was a member of Seventh-Day Adventist Church since 1954.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husbands Jim Trablik and Irvin Davis, sisters Julesie Olsen and Agnes Gemmer, brothers Rudy Gemmer and Jack Stewart and grandchildren Robert Scott Ayers, Marcia Pugh, and Cody Sharp, one great-granddaughter Esther Le’Chelle Salts.
Surviving family includes her daughters; Judy Nations and her husband Grady of Burlington, Colorado, Beth Pugh of Goodland, Kansas, and Vicki Fitzwater and her husband Guy of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Sister Freda House of Goodland, Kansas, ten grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and sixteen great-great grandchildren also survive her.
