Lifelong Sherman County, Kansas resident Judith C. Willems, 72, died January 29, 2013, at Good Samaritan Society—Sherman County in Goodland.
She was born January 9, 1941, at Goodland, the daughter of Anne (Darnauer) and Edmund Ochsner. She graduated with the class of 1959 from Sherman Community High School in Goodland, and then attended Fort Hays State University at Hays.
On December 27, 1960, she and Darrel Willems were married and they made their home in Sherman County, where she helped her husband on their farm. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She was a Master Gardener and was active in the Farmers Market.
Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers-in-law Warren Berringer and Ken Troutt, and nephew Brook Berringer.
Surviving family includes her husband Darrel Willems of Goodland; daughter Lezlee Willems of Sacramento, California; son Kyle Willems of Goodland; son Kent Willems and his wife Shelly of Goodland; one granddaughter Kaylee Willems; three sisters Roma Troutt of Emmett, Idaho; Jolene Ellis and her husband Stan of Indianapolis, Indiana; and Jan Berringer of Goodland.
The memorial service will be Saturday, February 16, at 10:30 AM MT, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Goodland, with Pastor Darian Hybl officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Goodland Cemetery.
Memorials may be designated to Emmanuel Lutheran Church or Farmers Market, and may be left at the service or mailed to Koons Funeral Home, 211 N. Main Ave., Goodland, KS 67735-1555.
