Lifelong Goodland, KS resident Judith B McClure, 81, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Penrose St. Francis Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO.
Judith was born on November 17, 1939 in Goodland, KS to Warren William and Lois Marguerite (Hooper) Berringer. She was one of four children. She attended school in Goodland and graduated from Sherman Community High School in 1957. She completed one year of college at Fort Hays State University.
On November 30, 1958, she married James Butler (JB) McClure III in Goodland, KS. To this union, three children were born; Mitch, Mike and Mark. Judith worked for many years as a bookkeeper alongside her husband JB for the family business, McClure Plumbing and Heating. After JB’s death, she continued working with Mitch and Mike until her untimely death.
Judith loved her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time at the lake, bowling, playing cards; and had a special love for celebrating Holidays and Birthdays with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member and past President of the Kansas Plumbing, Heating & Cooling Contractors Association Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Goodland United Methodist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Bill and Lois Berringer, her husband JB, one son Mark, her daughter-in-law Suzanne McClure, her sister Diane Workman, brother Warren Berringer, her brother and sister-in-law William and Judy Berringer and brother-in-law Robert McClure.
She is survived by her two sons Mitch (Jamie) McClure of Colby, KS, Mike McClure of Goodland, KS, five grandchildren Lindsey (Zach) Peterson of Norton, KS, Tanner (Gentry) McClure of Independence, KS, Lincoln (Summer) McClure of Manhattan, KS, Taylor (Alecia Coday) McClure of Lawrence, KS and Scott McClure of Goodland, KS; as well as 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Jan Berringer of Topeka, KS and a brother-in-law Ernie Workman of Goodland, KS and numerous close family members, cousins, nieces, nephews and many many friends. She was much loved and will be greatly missed.
