Longtime Wallace County, resident Joan Beverly Harrison, 85, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at the Prairie Senior Living Complex in Colby, KS.
Joan was born July 26, 1934 in Logan County, KS to Harold Lee and Mary Elizabeth (Sullivan) Baehler. She was one of three children. She attended country school in Wallace County, and attended High School in Sharon Springs up through the 10th grade.
On November 10, 1951 she married Forest Dean Harrison at the Methodist Church in Sharon Springs. To this union, two daughters, Sherrel and Sandra were born.
Joan was a bus driver and a rancher’s wife, helping her husband around the ranch and raising a family.
She took great pride in the appearance of the home place enjoying mowing in the summer, and always kept the buildings and corrals freshly painted. She also cherished her grandsons watching them mature and start families of their own.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband and one great grandchild.
She is survived by her daughters Sherrel Harrison (Don Barnett) of Sharon Springs, and Sandra Knudsen (J.R.) of Kearney, Missouri; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two siblings Harold Vernon Baehler and Barbara Akers of Sharon Springs.
