Longtime Goodland, Kansas resident Jessie Louise Cotton, 83, died Friday, March 29, 2013, at Good Samaritan Society—Sherman County in Goodland.
She was born September 22, 1929, at Colorado Springs, Colorado, the daughter of Vada Louise (Enoch) and Martin W. Finney. She graduated with the class of 1947 from Peyton High School in Peyton, Colorado.
On August 17, 1949, she and Robert LeRoy Cotton were married, and they made their home in Peyton, Colorado, before moving to Goodland in 1979.
She was a member of Church of the Nazarene in Goodland. Her hobbies included reading and playing the piano.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Robert Cotton, who died April 11, 2010; and sister Ramona Carter.
Surviving family includes daughters Marylin Gray and her husband Thomas of Stratton, Colorado; Sherrie Little of Lawton, Oklahoma; Terry Terry of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and son Rob Cotton of Amarillo, Texas; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday, April 4, at 10:30 AM MT, at Koons Chapel in Goodland, with Pastor Bob Willis officiating. Burial will follow in the Goodland Cemetery.
Friends may share their respects on Wednesday, from 3:00 until 6:00 PM MT, at Koons Chapel.
