Longtime Goodland, Kansas resident Janet Kay Becker, 45, died Saturday, October 20, 2012, at University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, Colorado.
She was born October 28, 1966, at Goodland, the daughter of LaVaughn (Carr) and Eugene Becker. She graduated from Goodland High School with the class of 1985, and then from Colby Community College.
She was a cashier at Wal-Mart in Goodland for over twenty years, always with a smile on her face. Her memberships included Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
Surviving family includes her son Brandon Sissel; her parents Eugene and LaVaughn Becker, all of Goodland; sister Pat Adelgren and her husband Eric, of Marion, North Carolina; sister Lona Brown, her husband Shawn, and their children Kasandra and Bryce, all of Hays; brother Daryl Becker, his friend Tiffany Kindel and her son Tristen, and Daryl’s sons Zachary, Austin and Tyler, all of Fruita, Colorado.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, October 26, at 10:00 AM MT, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Goodland, with Father Norbert Dlabal presiding. Burial will follow in the Goodland Cemetery.
Vigil and rosary will be Thursday, at 7:00 PM MT, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, with visitation preceding, beginning at 5:00 PM MT.
Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be designated to the Janet Becker Memorial, and may be left at the services, or mailed to Koons Funeral Home, 211 N. Main, Goodland, KS 67735-1555.
