Jack Prouty

April 14, 1936 — January 26, 2017

Yates Center, Kansas resident and former Goodland, Kansas resident Jack Leonard Prouty, 80, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the Allen County Regional Hospital in Iola, Kansas.

Jack was born on April 14, 1936 in Grand Junction, Colorado to Harry and Zeta Prouty.  He was one of several children.

Jack grew up and attended school in Grand Junction where he graduated from high school in 1954.  Jack served in the Army from 1960 to 1962 during the Vietnam War.

Jack worked as a dock worker for a freight line for many years of his life.  He was married to Frances A. Prouty.  She passed away in 1997.  He met Clara Hunger, and the two of them remained lifelong companions.

Preceding Jack in death were his parents, Harry and Zeta, and his first wife Frances and a son Jerry Lee Prouty.

He is survived by his companion Clara Hunger of Goodland, Betty Morton- Perich of Grand Junction, CO, Donald Harry Prouty also of Grand Junction, CO.
