Lifetime Goodland, Kansas resident Ila Dale Zeigler, 82, died Friday, March 29, 2013, at Penrose Hospital, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Ila was born July 8, 1930, in Edson, Kansas, the daughter of Mary Dale (Rinck) and Charles Herman Smith. She attended and graduated from Sherman Community High School in Goodland.
On May 17, 1953, she was united in marriage to William A. “Bill” Zeigler in Goodland, Kansas, and to this union two sons were born, Steve and Jerry.
Ila worked at several businesses in Goodland as a bookkeeper. She was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Goodland.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bill Zeigler; three sisters Wilma Huckey, Hazel Austin, and Betty Rust; her brothers Verle Smith and William Smith; and three special nephews Dale Austin, Darrell Rust, and Brian Smith.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons Steve Zeigler of Goodland; Jerry Zeigler of Florissant, Colorado; sister Dorothy Roeder and her husband Marlin of Goodland; brother Don Smith and his wife Bonnie of Goodland; sisters-in-law Addieline Harper of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Annabelle McDaniel and her husband Jim of Scott City, Kansas; brother-in-law Alvin Rust of Goodland; and many nieces and nephews and special friends.
Funeral services for Ila will be Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at 10:30 AM MT, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Goodland, with Pastor Darian Hybl officiating. Burial will follow in the Goodland Cemetery.
Friends may share their respects on Tuesday, April 2, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM MT, at Koons Chapel.
