Longtime Weskan, Kansas resident Homer R. Valentine, Jr., 75, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at his home in Weskan.
He was born July 3, 1937, at Toledo, Ohio, the son of Cleo Evelyn Betty Jane (Snell) and Homer R. Valentine, Sr. He attended Chase Elementary and Macomber High School in Toledo, Ohio. On September 27, 1974, he and Nancy Agnew were married at Winter Park, Florida. In 1975, they moved from Toledo to Weskan, where he farmed and ranched.
He was a member of the Weskan Bible Church. Hobbies that he enjoyed included hunting and fishing.
Preceding him in death were his parents and son Robert.
Surviving family includes his wife Nancy Valentine of Weskan; daughter-in-law Charity McIntyre of Grainfield; four granddaughters Jenean, Sarah, Rebecca, and Jasmine McIntyre of Grainfield; brother Roger Valentine of Toledo, Ohio; sister Diane Caruso of Sanford, Florida; and several nieces and nephews, as well as extended family.
The memorial service will be Monday, May 20, at 2:00 PM MT, at the Weskan Bible Church in Weskan, with Pastor Tim Cress officiating.
Inurnment will be at the Weskan Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be designated to Weskan Bible Church or Weskan School, and may be left at the service or mailed to Koons Funeral Home, 211 N. Main, Ave., Goodland, KS 67735.
