Goldie was born October 9, 1932 to Cecil Clyde Lock and Frances Mabel (Collins) Lock on the family farm in rural Wallace County, West of Wallace on Pond Creek. She was brought into the world by her great grandmother Emily Collins. The oldest of 10 children she was a loving, caring helper to her parents.
She attended 1st-8th grade at Wallace Grade School. Goldie completed 7th and 8th grade in one school term. She was very proud of this accomplishment. She graduated from Wallace County Community High School in 1949.

Goldie was a homemaker until 1972 when she began a 20-year career as the cook at Wallace Grade School until retiring in 1992.
She was a member of the Sharon Springs Methodist Church, the Busy Bee Women’s Club and a 4-H leader. Many 4-Hers were fortunate to be guided by her as she shared her gifts of cooking and sewing. Late nights were spent sewing perfectly tailored clothes for her children. Goldie was known for the beautiful wedding cakes she made for family, friends and members of the community. She enjoyed working in her large vegetable and flower gardens. It brought her great joy to host family gatherings as well as extended visits from nieces, nephews and of course her grandchildren. Even in her later years, she looked forward to attending the county fair with her family. You could find her in the gym supporting local sporting events of her children and grandchildren as recent as 5 months ago.
