Goodland, KS resident Glenn Orville (Scott) Burk passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Topside Manor in Goodland.
Glenn was born July 10, 1927 to Antonia Tresia (Burk) and James Merlin Scott in Rural Leoti Kansas. After his mother’s death he was adopted by her twin brother Henry Burk and wife Gladys (Scott) Burk.
Glenn graduated from Edson High School where he got his diploma. He was with the class of 1945-1946.
Glenn married Evelyn Marie More May 18th, 1947 at the family home southeast of Edson Kansas. Their son Michael was then born on August 30, 1949.
Glenn and Evelyn farmed raising sheep and cattle. They continued farming until Evelyn passed away in December 2017. They were honored with being top ten sugar producers many times till the sugar plant closed. Glenn always said that his goal to produce a better crop then he produced the year before. In 2005 they were awarded conservationist of the year.
Preceding him in death were his parents James and Anotonia and Henry and Gladys. His wife Evelyn Marie Burk. 4 brothers; Wilburn, Willard, Lee Vern Bert, and Leroy Paul Scott, and 1 sister; Elnore Marie Burk Elliott.
He is survived by his son Michael (Joyce) Burk of Goodland, KS. His grandchildren Jon Burk of Haysville, KS, Josh(Anna) Burk of Haysville, KS, JT (Erin)Burk of University Place, Washington, and JD (Misty) Burk of Goodland, KS; 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Bert (Carol) Funk of Oklahoma City.
