Lifelong Goodland, Kansas resident Glenda Jean Parks, 90, died Sunday, June 18, 2023, at her home in Goodland, Kansas.
Glenda was born April 19, 1933, south of Edson, Kansas, the daughter of Harry and Leona (Ebert) Smith. She was one of four children.
On June 10, 1951, she and Ivan Parks were married. To this union, two sons Danny and Randy were born.
Glenda enjoyed going to the lake to fish and waterski. She also enjoyed candle making, macramé, playing the piano, oil painting, gardening and tending to the roses in her yard. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, going to the Phantom of the Opera many times, going antiquing with Randy and Mark and singing with the player piano. She loved life especially her husband Ivan of 72 years. Glenda could also be found running the snow cone business with Dan, Burlay and the grandchildren every year at the county fairs, and ball games.
Preceding her in death were her parents Harry and Leona, one brother Gordon Smith, and one sister Wanda Schneider.
Surviving family her husband Ivan Parks, her children Danny (Burlay) of Sharon Springs, KS, Randy (Mark Wingard) Parks of Kansas City, MO. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchildren and a sister Connie (Kenny) Soellner of Goodland, KS, and numerous nieces, nephews and family and friends.
Memorials may be designated to Northwest Kansas Hospice Services and may be left at the services or mailed to Koons-Russell Funeral Home, 211 North Main, Goodland, KS 67735.
