Glenda Joyce (Schmidt) Koehn passed away on July 4, 2023, at Greeley County Hospital. She was born in Copeland, Kansas, on April 18, 1933 to Albert N. and Margaret Schmidt. She was the youngest of five children, and her first years of school
required her to walk across the road to a one-room schoolhouse.
Glenda met and fell in love with Loid Koehn of Montezuma. They were married on September 17, 1950, and later moved to Wallace County in 1960 as a family of five. In addition to helping Loid on the farm, Glenda enjoyed photography, quilting, grandkids, crafts, and traveling in their motorhome. Glenda was able to celebrate her 90th birthday surrounded by family and friends from across the country, one of her highlights in life.
Preceding her in death were her parents; siblings Donald, Darrel, Dwayne, and Marjorie; husband Loid Koehn; son Stanley Koehn; granddaughter Tori (Cox) Mathias.
Surviving family includes daughter-in-law Pegi Koehn of La Junta, Colorado; grandson
Devin (Tanya) Koehn of Bennington and children Caleb, Dylan, and Ericka;
granddaughter Kenzie (Michael) Andino and grandson Bric Koehn; daughter Stacey
Cox and her husband Mike of Weskan, their daughter Tera (Camron) Funk of Sharon
Springs, and children Hailey, Cade, and Mya; Ross (Megan) Cox of Sharon Springs,
and children Gage, Carter, and Mason; Jeff Mathias of Syracuse and children Reid and
Ivy; Clayton (Jessica) Cox of Weskan and children Cole, Hogan, and Sydney; daughter
Sherry Lawless of Sharon Springs, children Erin (Mary) Lawless of Hays; Mindy (Kris)
Kirk of Winona and children Dally, Shea, Kolt; Hannah (Daniel) Roberts of San Diego,
California, and son Lucas; Kayla (Dalton) Brooks of Sharon Springs and children
Keagan, Kinley, and Ki; and a long line of other family members.
Memorials may be designated to Weskan Bible Church or Weskan Community Building,
and may be left at the service or mailed to Koons-Russell Funeral Home, 211 N.
