Lifelong Sherman County resident, and Wallace County farmer and rancher, Doris Marie Craft, 90, passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at her home in Goodland, KS.
She was born on November 3, 1930, in Goodland to William and Dora (Isernhagen) Sieck. She attended school in Edson and graduated from Edson High School in 1948.
She married Jesse Craft on August 8, 1948 at the Pleasant Home Church just one mile north of their farm. They started farming just 2 miles from where they both grew up. Jesse and Doris loved farming and ranching. They were blessed with three daughters; Shirley, Karen and Marsha.
She served her church and community in various clubs and boards. She and Jesse supported 4-H and served on the fair board for many years.
Preceding her in death were her husband Jesse of 69 years, her parents, two half-sisters; Anna Irwin and Ruth Parsons, four brothers; William, Henry, Paul and Ray, two sisters; Donna and Bonnie and six great grandchildren.
She is survived by her three daughters; Shirley (Ron) Busse of Edson, KS, Karen (Les) Lampe of Shawnee Mission, KS and Marsha (Ron) Schilling of Edson, KS. She is also survived one brother Melvin (Marsha) Sieck, two sisters; Lavone Bring and Dolores (Larry) Brock, sisters-in-law Lois Sieck and Caroline Sieck, eight grandchildren; Justin (Amity) Ihrig, John (Tisha) Ihrig, Jessica Nittler, Anne (Nate) Rahmeier, Paul (Spencer Boland) Lampe, Cash (Amanda) Schilling, Chance Schilling and Clay (Kaycie) Schilling, twenty great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
