Dolores Cody

Goodland, KS resident Dolores V. Cody, 87, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at her home in Goodland.

Dolores was born on March 25, 1936 in Ruleton, KS to Antonio and Guadalupe (Mendez) Manzo.  She was one of ten children.  She lived in Ruleton until the age of 12 and then moved to Goodland where she attended school through the 12th grade, graduating with the class of 1954.  She then went on and attended four years of college at Loretto Heights College in Denver, CO.

On February 19, 1987, she married Charles Conn Cody in Burlington, CO.  Dolores worked for many years as a nurse for USD 352 as well as numerous other school districts.  She also worked as an Attendance Director and worked with Bilingual and Monolingual programs.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.

Surviving friends include her caregivers Jody Sharon of Goodland, Maria Garza of Goodland, as well as numerous other friends in the Goodland Community she considered family.

Dolores’ wishes were to be cremated with no services to be held at this time.
