Goodland, Kansas resident Darren Michael Way, 39, died Thursday, August 18, 2016.
He was born April 12, 1977, in Burlington, Colorado, the son of Marcia K. (Elliott) and Curtis W. Way. He graduated from Goodland High School with the class of 1996, and then attended Northwest Kansas Area Vo-Tech School.
Darren worked for the Kansas Department of Transportation as an equipment operator. He enjoyed shooting sports, gaming, and spending time with family and friends.
Preceding him in death was his mother Marcia K. Way and his grandparents.
Darren is survived by his father Curt Way of Goodland; daughters Annika Way of Salina, Alora Way of Goodland, and Izabella Williams of Goodland; fiancee Cari Williams of Goodland; brother Jason Way and his wife Rocio of Arvada, Colorado; niece Samantha Sarmiento; nephew Steve Sarmiento, both of Arvada, Colorado; aunts Carol Colby and her husband Kim of Assaria; Connie Peterson and her husband Jim of Manhattan; cousins Stephanie Pride, Jeff Peterson, Rhonda Smith, Kelsey Colby, and Haylie Colby.
The funeral will be Tuesday, August 23, at 10:30 AM MT, at Harvest Evangelical Free Church in Goodland, with Pastor Brian Fugleberg officiating. Burial will follow in the Goodland Cemetery.
Friends may share their respects on Monday, August 22, from 3:00 until 7:00 PM MT, at Koons Chapel in Goodland.
Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be designated to the Darren Way Memorial (to be used for his daughters’ future education), and may be left at or mailed to Koons Funeral Home, 211 N. Main, Goodland, KS 67735-1555.
