Daniel Dorn, Sr.

Longtime Goodland, Kansas resident Daniel Jacob Dorn, Sr., 95, died Sunday, February 21, 2016, in Goodland at Good Samaritan Society—Sherman County.
He was born July 20, 1920, in Saskatchewan, Canada, the son of Katie (Rossman) and Jacob Daniel Dorn. He attended school in rural North Dakota, before moving to Barnesville, Colorado with his parents.
On June 5, 1954, he and Laura Belle Pafford were married at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Greeley, Colorado. In 1977, they moved from Greeley to Goodland, where he continued farming.
Preceding him in death were his wife Laura Dorn, who died December 2, 2010; his daughter Diana Dorn, who died September 22, 2012; sisters Lydia, Frieda and Emma; brothers Edward (Mary) and Herman (Esther).
Surviving family includes son Danny Dorn, son Donny Dorn, son David Dorn and his wife Dee, all of Goodland; four grandchildren Jessica Bonner, her husband James, and their children Malynn and Caleb, all of Commack, New York; Michael Dorn, his wife Cortney, and their children Natalie, Kaden, Adelynn, and Bentley, all of Goodland; Chris Dorn and his children Hagan and Suri, all of Goodland; Josh Dorn, his wife Missy, and their children Justin, Cheyenne, and Jacob, all of Goodland.
The funeral will be Saturday, February 27, at 2:00 PM MT, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Goodland, with Pastor Darian Hybl officiating. Burial will follow in the Goodland Cemetery.
Friends may share their respects one hour prior to the service at the church.
