Longtime Goodland, Kansas resident Charline Willma Johnson, 87, died Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at her home.
She was born July 19, 1928, at Fairbury, Nebraska, the daughter of Inez Matilda (Abbott) and Edward Terril Glascock. She attended schools in Courtland and Goodland, graduating with the class of 1946 from Sherman Community High School.
On December 2, 1950, she and Jack M. Johnson were married at Burlington, Colorado, and they made their home in Goodland. Charline was a homemaker and a family person. Her hobbies included sewing, upholstering, quilting, crocheting, and gardening. She made four wedding dresses, and a multitude of quilts and rag rugs. Her memberships included the auxiliaries of the Elks and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Preceding her in death were her husband Jack Johnson; grandson Mark Johnson; infant twin brother Charlie Wallace Glascock; brother Edward Glascock; sisters Mildred Harris, Alice “PeeWee” Babcock, and Corrine Worley.
Surviving family includes two sons David Johnson and his wife Lindy of Garden City; Martin Johnson and his wife Beth of Goodland; five grandsons Chris Johnson, Doug Johnson, Jake Johnson and his wife Chelsea, Andy Johnson, and Vance Johnson.
The funeral will be Friday, December 11, at 2:00 PM MT, at Koons Chapel in Goodland, with Dan Worley officiating. Burial will follow in the Goodland Cemetery.
