Goodland, KS resident Brenda Patricia Moss, 93, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at the Prairie Senior Living Complex in Colby.
Brenda was born on June 10, 1927 in Patterson, Louisiana. She was the daughter of John T. and Bertha M. (Trepagnier) Peterson. She attended St. Theresa’s Elementary School, Horace Mann Jr. High and Thomas Jefferson High Schools in San Antonio, TX.
On August 5, 1945, she and Lt. Lewis R. Rueb were married at Randolph Field Chapel in San Antonio, TX. To this union, four children were born; Cynthia, Richard, Jackie and Alan. They divorced in 1964.
Brenda was a past president of VFW Auxiliary Post 1528; Legion Auxiliary, P.T. A. and Catholic Altar Society of St. Francis, KS. She was also active in Cub Scouts.
Brenda worked in Colby and St. Francis hospitals as a CNA, and also worked in Retail selling turquoise jewelry in Colorado and New Mexico.
On July 6, 1974, she and John Moss were married. They divorced in 1989.
Preceding her in death were her parents, an infant sister, a sister Patricia B. Despres, two sons Alan Keith Rueb and Richard Thomas Rueb, and a step-sister Sara Radicke.
She is survived by her two daughters, Cynthia Schulte and husband Richard Beck of Topeka, KS, and Jackie and husband Bill Finley of Goodland, KS; six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
