Betty Wegner

Longtime Goodland, Kansas resident and Sherman County Century Family member, Betty Wegner, 88, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2015, in Corpus Christi, Texas.

She was born December 24, 1926, in rural Sherman County, Kansas, the daughter of Ellen (West) and Gaylord Butts.  She attended country schools in Sherman County.

Preceding her in death were her husband of thirty years Floyd Wegner, son Kenneth Browning, her parents, and seven siblings.

Surviving family includes her daughter Donna Hicks; granddaughters Krista Villiva and her husband Tony; Kimberly Baker and her husband Carney, all of Corpus Christi, Texas; Mica Browning and Kaci Browning of Michigan; great-granddaughter Brittany Villiva of Corpus Christi, Texas; brother Dan Butts and his wife Georgia of Edson;  numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend Sharon Finley of Goodland.

The funeral will be Saturday, November 21, at 1:30 PM MT, at Koons Chapel in Goodland, with Dr. Chet Ross officiating.  Burial will follow in the Goodland Cemetery.

Friends may share their respects on Friday, from 4:00 until 6:00 PM MT, at Koons Chapel.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be designated to the charity of the donor’s choice, and may be mailed to Koons Funeral Home, 211 N. Main, Goodland, KS  67735-1555.
