Longtime Wallace County, Kansas resident Betty Pilger, 91, died Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Greeley County Hospital in Tribune.
She was born April 12, 1924, at McGrew, Nebraska, the daughter of Emily (Nelson) and Walter Roberts. She graduated from McGrew High School.
On December 24, 1945, she and LeRue “Bud” Pilger were married at Gering, Nebraska, and together they farmed and ranched and raised their family in Wallace County, Kansas. She was a member of the Dinas Community Church.
Preceding her in death were her husband Bud Pilger, who died November 8, 2001; one sister, and one brother.
Surviving family includes her children Lori Sherman and her husband Bob of Manahawkin, New Jersey; Norman Pilger and his wife Marty of Sharon Springs; Barbara Kueker of Ault, Colorado; and Kay Klinge and her husband Dave of Sharon Springs; eleven grandchildren Amanda Torres and her husband Jon; David Sherman, his wife Holly, and their children Ella and Hudson; Drew Pilger; Megan Cox, her husband Ross, and their children Gage, Carter, and Mason; Anna Kueker and her son Wyatt; Sara Kinneson, her husband Matt, and their children Taylor, Maddy, and Nathan; Deana LaFlor, her husband Jami, and their children Trevor and Taya; Jennie Klinge, John Klinge, JoAnna Sommerfeld, her husband Tyson, and their son Luke; and Jayne Klinge.
The funeral will be Thursday, May 7, at 10:30 AM MT, at Dinas Community Church in rural Wallace County, with Reverend Paul McNall officiating. Burial will follow in the Dinas Cemetery.
Friends may share their respects one hour prior to the service.
