Longtime Sherman County, Kansas resident Berniece A. Peters, 94, died Monday, December 3, 2012, at Aspen Siesta Nursing Home in Denver, Colorado.
She was born November 12, 1918, at the family home in Johnson City, Missouri, the daughter of Jessie (Shoemaker) and Fred Murphy. She graduated from East High School in Denver, Colorado with the class of 1936.
On February 26, 1937, she and John Raymond Peters were married at Denver, Colorado.
Preceding her in death were her husband Raymond Peters; daughter Joan Leonard; mother Jessie Bergmeier; step-father Charles Bergmeier; and father Fred Murphy.
Surviving family includes her son Gary L. Peters of Denver, Colorado; granddaughter Dawn Lamping, her husband Richard, and their children
Remy and Tucker, all of Aspen, Colorado; step-sisters Patty Simmons, Lola Thomas, and Doris Murphy, all of Missouri.
The funeral will be on Monday, December 10, at 2:00 PM MT, at Koons Chapel in Goodland, with Reverend Dustin Petz officiating. Burial will follow in the Goodland Cemetery.
Friends may share their respects one hour prior to the service.
