Goodland, Kansas resident Barbara Lee Ornelas, 54, died Monday, February 4, 2013, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.
She was born on July 10, 1958 in Tacoma, Washington, the daughter of Shelda M. (Harms) and Joseph William Knight. She attended school in Oakville, Washington.
She worked for a fish cannery in Washington. She and James Ornelas were married in 2008.
Barbara enjoyed quilting and cross stitch, trips to the thrift shop, and times spent with her grandkids, nieces, nephews, and friends. She especially enjoyed going fishing with James.
She is preceded in death by her father Joseph Knight, brother Ernest Knight, and son Joe Lindsley.
Surviving family members are her husband James Ornelas of Goodland; daughters Candy Knight of Seattle, Washington; Lucinda Thompson and husband Jesse of Temecula, California; Shannon McCabe and husband Phillip of Brunswick, Maryland; and Carmella Knight; and son Dereck Brown; her mother Shelda Benally Ostrander and husband Charles of Orofino, Idaho; fourteen grandchildren; beloved sister Angel Morgan: mother-in-law Mary Cabral, both of Goodland; and four step-children.
The memorial service will be Monday, March 11, at 10:00 AM MT, at Koons Chapel in Goodland.
