Lifelong Goodland, Kansas resident Audrey N. Finley, 86, died Saturday, June 6, 2015, in Goodland at Good Samaritan Society—Sherman County.
She was born February 28, 1929, in Goodland, the daughter of Mable (Gustafson) and Orville Amos. She attended Sherman Community High School in Goodland.
On March 26, 1945, she and Darold Finley were married at Corpus Christi Naval Station in Texas, and they made their home in Goodland. In 1957, they began as owners and operators of Finley Motors, Incorporated, serving the area for over forty years. Their son Danny joined them in the family business after Danny’s return from his military service in Viet Nam. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bowling and all sports activities. She and Darold were honored to receive the Black and Gold Award for their dedicated support. She loved her granddaughter and great-grandchildren, and was proud of all of them.
Preceding her in death were her husband Darold Finley, who died June 25, 2009; her parents; siblings Orley Amos, Letha Stanley, Twila Stillwell, Marceline Hayes, John Amos; and daughter-in-law Lorna Finley.
Surviving family includes son Danny Finley and his wife Judy of Goodland; granddaughter Wendy Powell and her husband Jake of Lawrence; step-granddaughter Jessica Cain and her husband Brenton of Parker, Colorado; five great-grandchildren Samantha and Madison Powell, Kamron McCormack, Graeme and Brecken Cain; and sister-in-law Ann Amos of Wichita
The funeral will be Wednesday, June 10, at 10:00 AM MT, at First United Methodist Church in Goodland, with Reverend Lew Van Der Wege and Gordon Pettibone officiating. Burial will follow in the Goodland Cemetery.
Friends may share their respects on Tuesday, June 9, from 4:00 until 6:00 PM MT, at Koons Chapel.
