Longtime Sherman County, Kansas resident Alta Mae House, 74, died Saturday, July 25, 2015, at her home.
She was born February 1, 1941, at Burlington, Colorado, the daughter of Mary Lucille (Willy) and Klein P. Bowker. She graduated from Burlington High School.
On September 18, 1960, she and Lawrence E. House, Jr. were married at the Methodist Church in Goodland.
Surviving family includes two sons Lawrence House III and his wife Kimberly of Goodland; James A. House and his wife Jessica of Brewster; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings Elsie Miller of Paris Texas; Jim Bowker and his wife Sharon of Goodland; Carol Tracy of Limon, Colorado; Nancy Michel and her husband Loren of Limon, Colorado; Phyllis Dering of Ramah, Colorado; Bruce Bowker of Centennial, Colorado; Beverly Bowker of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Jacki Sandoval and her husband Cip of Littleton, Colorado
Preceding her in death were her husband Lawrence E. House, Jr.; her parents; sisters Kay Stephens and Janice Young; and brother William Bowker.
The memorial service will be Monday, August 3, at 10:00 AM MT, at the First United Methodist Church in Goodland, with Pastor Lyn Linde officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Goodland Cemetery.
